Mass Gathering Medicine Calgary (MGM Calgary) is a student-led organization at the University of Calgary dedicated to providing hands-on experiences in event and community medicine. Founded in 2012 and inspired by the original MGM initiative at the University of British Columbia, the club connects medical students with opportunities to volunteer at festivals, sporting events, and large community gatherings. Our mission is to promote learning through real-world experience, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and foster community engagement. Volunteers gain practical medical and teamwork skills in dynamic, fast-paced environments while contributing to public safety and well-being. Guided by our core values of Positivity, Interdisciplinary, and Community, MGM Calgary embraces the energy of event culture, emphasizing teamwork, inclusivity, and a growth mindset.
