The Professionalism Committee is an autonomous (unaffiliated with the CMSA) inter-class student-led organization dedicated to:
Ensuring a safe and supportive space for conflict resolution.
Promoting respect, fairness, and professionalism in all student interactions.
Providing accessible mediation and conflict resolution resources.
Upholding the institution's Code of Conduct through neutral and confidential interventions.

Concern Classification

Behaviour that disrupts a positive, productive, respectful learning/working/living environment; includes actions listed in the Student Non-Academic Misconduct Policy (Appendix 1).

Behaviour that compromises proper academic assessment, including cheating, plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, unauthorized assistance, failure to follow instructor expectations or exam regulations.

Intentional or unintentional behaviour that disrespects dignity and compromises the learning or working environment; can be a single incident or a repeated pattern (AFMC definition).

Threatened or actual violence as defined under the Criminal Code of Canada (e.g., physical harm, threats, assault).

Unwelcome conduct (verbal, written, graphic, physical, or coercive) based on Protected Grounds, or personal harassment involving intimidation, abuse of power, or hostile environment creation.

Violence (physical or psychological), threats, or attempts targeting gender, gender identity, or gender expression, committed without consent.

Failure to meet expected standards when representing the University, including contravening University policies or engaging in inappropriate or harmful actions.

Failure to attend mandatory sessions on time, inappropriate absence patterns, or attendance-related misconduct (e.g., signing in for others), which may escalate to Associate Dean review.

Academic or professionalism concerns requiring committee review, including misconduct referrals, academic difficulties, repeated deferrals, incomplete courses, or patterns of unprofessional behaviour.
