Association of South Asian Health Advocates (ASHA)
The Association of South Asian Health Advocates (ASHA) was founded by medical students to confront health disparities and promote culturally responsive care within South Asian communities. We promote health equity through advocacy, mentorship, and education rooted in lived experience. ASHA creates space for South Asian medical students to connect, reflect, and grow as future leaders in medicine. We aim to amplify South Asian voices in healthcare through future mentorship events, panels, and community outreach—addressing stigma, health myths, and systemic barriers. Students of all backgrounds are welcome to join us in building inclusive, culturally responsive care.
