Minutes

Updates

VP Communication - Ryan

VP Academics - Adibba, Marissa

  • Email communications to Dr. Desy/UME Exams/SEC re: timeline of exam marks being returned to students

    • Apparently, deferrals of exams do not influence score release (though students were previously informed that exam scores could not be released until all deferrals were written to prevent potential issues of academic misconduct/cheating/preventing undue duress to students deferring exams)

    • Generally, marks will not be released on Fridays/the day before the weekend in the event that a student needs to access SAWH resources

    • Competency Committee will sit on Dec 16th to determine student progress for Class of 2027 (Class of 2028, yours typically occurs later, sorry!)

      • If a student has Fundamentals 12 or OSCE 3 deferral for after Christmas, then progression decisions are made with the assumption that those exams are successful

        • If a student is unsuccessful and that impacts their progression, then the Competency Committee addresses that on a case-by-case scenario

    • Sept 2024 class presentation with Competency Committee/Dr. Bromley stated that we would always have exam marks from the previous exam prior to writing the next exam.

      • Clarify with Competency Committee meeting?

VP Finance - Jonah

VP Events - Michelle, Oliver

  • Global Health Week ran from October 27th to October 30th

    • Sessions focused on immigrant and refugee health, water sanitation, global health physician panel, and global health movie night

    • Shared information to Class of 2028 VP Global Health and incoming Global Health Portfolio
